SUMMARY
This role requires a keen ability for high-quality legal analysis and sound judgment. You should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and influencing abilities, and a proactive approach to providing legal support that aligns with the dynamic needs of a business team. Flexibility and adeptness in managing multiple projects simultaneously are essential. This will be an onsite position located in the Denver Tech Center in Denver, CO. (We are not able to move forward with candidates that live in: CA, NY, NJ, IL, WA, OR and MUST BE LOCATED WITHIN THE UNITED STATES)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCSTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic and tactical legal support for all facets of TSG’s business and across all its brands and subsidiaries.
  • · Serve as a trusted advisor to business teams, providing guidance on product and service developments and consumer finance laws and regulations relevant to TSG, particularly in auto lending. This includes third-party management, marketing materials review, and drafting and negotiating business and partnership agreements.
  • · Effectively manage outside counsel relationships and oversee litigation strategies.
  • · Provide legal support to human resources for employee related matters.
  • · Lead efforts to monitor and assess federal, state, and local regulatory developments affecting lending, ancillary product sales, and other business activities impacting TSG’s marketplace. Communicate with TSG’s lending partners to ensure regulatory alignment.
  • · Collaborate closely with the compliance team to deliver comprehensive risk management support, assisting in responses to consumer complaints, and managing both internal and external compliance audits, including regulatory exams.
  • · Work with team members to identify areas for process improvement and ensure consistent interpretation and application of legal requirements across TSG.
  • · Provide prompt legal support for other assignments as needed.
  • · Supervise and support team members in meeting shared objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • J.D. from an accredited law school; must be licensed and in good standing in one or more states.
  • · Minimum of 8 years combined experience in law firm, government, or in-house roles, preferably with people management experience. At least 5 years should be focused on consumer finance law, with a preference for in-house experience at a bank, credit union, finance company, or fintech.
  • · Expertise in advising on key consumer finance regulations, including TILA/Regulation Z, ECOA/Regulation B, FCRA/Regulation V, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, UDAAP, federal and state privacy laws, and state specific lending laws.
  • · Strong experience in contract review and negotiation with practical legal insights that balance legal risk and business goals.
  • · Agility and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving business environment, with a readiness to innovate.
  • · Comfortable with hands-on involvement in the implementation and execution of legal guidance alongside business partners.
  • · Proven ability to manage multiple transactions or tasks, take on new challenges, and advise on unique legal issues.
  • · Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively and influence partners and team members across departments and job levels.
  • · High integrity and willingness to engage in candid discussions with business leaders when necessary.

COMPENSATION
Compensation: Starting salary range is $180,000 - $200,000 based on relevant experience, merit and Education. Potential for discretionary bonus of up to 30% of annual base salary.

NON-PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Change of tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously and working with others as part of a team, irregular schedule/overtime, and tedious exacting work.
